AMI AgroEcoNum 2025

• Generation of innovative, multidisciplinary knowledge and methods to accelerate the agroecological transition and climate adaptation in agriculture
• Development and dissemination of digital tools, models, datasets and equipment prototypes that can be adopted by scientists, technology providers and practitioners
• Establishment of new or enhanced research infrastructures that serve as long-term enablers for agroecological research and innovation
• Strengthening of a collaborative scientific community at the nexus of digital sciences and agroecology
• Identification and demonstration of promising digital-science applications (e.g., AI, remote sensing, IoT) with measurable impact on agroecological practices
• Filling of thematic gaps in the current PEPR portfolio by addressing novel or under-explored topics relevant to sustainable agricultural systems

• Projects must directly address one or more of the PEPR AgroEcoNum’s four scientific axes: 1) Responsible socio-ecosystem for innovation; 2) Genetic resource characterization; 3) Next-generation agro-equipment; 4) Digital data processing, modeling and decision support
• Proposals may be research projects or infrastructure/equipment projects, system-oriented and multidisciplinary
• Project duration: 3–5 years
• Funding request per project: €1 million to €3 million
• Budget envelope for this call: €17.3 million
• Eligible applicants include: – Teams not funded under the 2023 AAP, incorporating jury feedback from that process – New entrants in digital sciences without prior agroecology contributions, who can demonstrate clear agroecological relevance
• Projects must address topics not yet or insufficiently covered by existing PEPR-funded projects, or emerging digital-science themes with high agroecological application potential
