Art Commission

• Stimulate high-quality, publicly accessible visual art and deepen market and public involvement in art commissioning.

• Enhance the quality, visibility and audience reach of contemporary Dutch visual arts.

• Foster meaningful collaborations that contribute to the artistic development and professional practice of commissioned artists.

• Ensure projects are well-presented and reach relevant audiences through strategic presentation plans.

• Applicant must be an individual (non-artist), organization, institution or company established in the Netherlands or Caribbean part of the Kingdom (excluding individual artists, art education/post-graduate institutions, sales-oriented commercial art institutions).

• Commissioned work must be non-profit, accessible to the public and presented in the Netherlands or Caribbean Kingdom.

• Artist must be a professional visual artist with at least one year of professional practice (HBO diploma date or first professional presentation date).

• Budget must include a realistic artist’s fee (per Central Government Real Estate Agency or Fair Pay calculators) and production/presentation costs.

• Financial contribution from the commissioner must be proportionate to the requested grant.
