What is the Art Heritage Presentation grant Call?

Grant Description
The Mondriaan Fund’s Art Heritage Presentation grant supports exceptional visual arts and cultural heritage presentations, including exhibitions, festivals and innovative formats, to strengthen public engagement and ensure diverse and nationally relevant programming across the Netherlands and the Caribbean part of the Kingdom.

• Achieve significant regional or national impact through collaborative networks, high-quality curatorial and organizational leadership, and effective audience outreach

• Foster new artistic creation, presentation methods and partnerships that advance contemporary visual arts and cultural heritage discourse
Funded areas

Scope Requirements

• Eligible applicants: fine arts institutions, museums and other cultural heritage organizations (non-commercial, public-oriented) established in the Netherlands or the Caribbean part of the Kingdom (excluding professional art education/post-academic institutions and sector bodies without a museum function)

• Projects must be of national importance or have significant regional allure

• Minimum total project budget: €25,000 (variable costs only; no fixed costs allowed)

• Maximum grant: 40% of variable project costs (typical awards €45,000; awards ≥€75,000 very exceptional)

• Artist involvement requires realistic fee budgeted according to the Fair Practice Code

• Applicants must comply with the Dutch Fair Practice Code, the Culture Governance Code and the Diversity & Inclusion Code

• Application periods:
– Current round: until Thursday 31 July, 16:00 CEST (10:00 AST)
– Next round (revised form): opens Monday 4 August, ~12:00 CEST (06:00 AST)

• Applications submitted year-round via online portal (account required)

• Processing time: approximately 3 months (may be longer due to volume)

• No retroactive funding; grants cannot cover fixed costs, museum construction/founding or regular operations

• Ineligible activities: journals, publications, documentaries, symposia or conferences, unless inextricably linked to the project; activities funded under other Mondriaan Fund regulations or other public programs

• Detailed checklist of required PDF attachments and page limits (institution registration, project plan, presentation plan, budgets with financing plan, artist dossiers, visual documentation, letters of support, bank details)
