Grant Description
This call invites knowledge institutions and societal stakeholders to conduct research to develop an approach that enables Dutch government policy to comprehensively consider its impacts on human and planetary health.
Required Results for Successful Funding

Expected Outcomes

A validated, scalable framework or approach that enables Dutch government policy to comprehensively consider and balance human and planetary health impacts. Deliverables include: methodological guidelines, analytical tools or models, demonstrative case study reports, clear policy recommendations, and a dissemination plan to facilitate uptake by relevant government ministries and stakeholders.
Funded areas

Scope Requirements

Projects must be led by or involve recognised knowledge institutions and relevant societal stakeholders. Research must focus on the Dutch government policy context and address impacts on both human and planetary health. Proposals must adopt an interdisciplinary, systems‐oriented approach and demonstrate how their methods and outputs can be operationalised by policymakers. Applications must respect the total budget envelope of €2,865,000 and adhere to the 11 November 2025, 14:00 hrs deadline for full applications.

Special Conditions

– Call is managed by ZonMw under the ‘Building blocks for integrated policy on Planetary Health’ programme.
– Total budget: €2,865,000.
– Open to consortia combining academic, governmental, NGO or community partners.
– Proposals must comply with ZonMw’s open science, data management and IP policies.
– No earmarked funding for large-scale infrastructure; eligible costs must be justified in relation to project objectives.
