What is the Climate Change Adaptation Call?
Expected Outcomes
• Deliver efficiently on their quantified adaptation objectives
• Advance the EU’s 2050 climate-resilient society vision by reinforcing adaptive capacity, strengthening resilience and reducing vulnerability
• Support the implementation of the Paris Agreement and meet obligations under the European Climate Law
Scope Requirements
• Contribute to the long-term vision of the EU Adaptation Strategy for 2050, delivering efficiently on quantified objectives by project end
• Reinforce adaptive capacity, strengthen resilience and reduce vulnerability in line with the Paris Agreement and the European Climate Law
• Address one or more of the defined Areas of Intervention (policy support, risk assessment tools, nature-based solutions, infrastructure resilience, sector-specific adaptation, water management, health, risk preparedness, financial instruments)
• Propose measurable targets and indicators to track progress and ensure efficient delivery of objectives
• Be implemented by applicants from eligible countries as specified in section 6 of the call document
• Demonstrate sufficient operational and financial capacity as detailed in section 7 of the call document
• Comply with the page limits and layout requirements of Part B of the Application Form

• Single-stage submission; deadline 23 September 2025, 17:00 Brussels time
• Proposals must respect page limits and layout rules (section 5 of call document; Part B of the Application Form)
• Applicants must be from eligible countries (section 6)
• Financial and operational capacity must meet requirements (section 7); exclusion criteria apply
Evaluation and award:
• Submission and evaluation procedures per section 8 of the call document and the Funding & Tenders Portal Online Manual
• Award criteria, scoring and thresholds per section 9
• Indicative evaluation and grant agreement timeline per section 4
Legal and financial set-up:
• Governed by LIFE Regulation 2021/783, EU Financial Regulation 2024/2509 and the LIFE Model Grant Agreement (section 10)
Mandatory documents:
• Call document and annexes, Standard application form (LIFE), Detailed budget table, Participant information, Maps, Site and species/habitat descriptions, Model Grant Agreements
