Grant Description
Higher education teaching professionals in the Netherlands can apply for a two-year innovation grant of 90 000 to 100 000 euro to implement educational innovations within a course or subject. Projects must directly benefit students at Dutch higher education institutions and fall under four themes: future teaching methods, diversity and inclusion, labour market alignment, or a free theme.
Required Results for Successful Funding

Expected Outcomes

• Tangible improvements in teaching and learning within the chosen course or discipline, directly enhancing student experiences and outcomes.

• Verified innovative educational practices or formats, documented through project evaluations and reports.

• Enhanced diversity, inclusion, or labour-market alignment in course design (depending on theme).

• Strengthened educational leadership capacity of the Senior Fellow, evidenced via a Professional Statement.

• A sustainable implementation or scaling plan allowing broader uptake of successful innovations.

• A complete research data-management plan ensuring responsible handling and sharing of project data.
Funded areas

Scope Requirements

• Applicant must be a teaching professional employed at a publicly funded Dutch higher-education institution (hogeschool or universiteit).

• Only one application per faculty.

• Senior Fellow status requires ≥5 years of teaching experience and demonstrated ambition in educational leadership and/or in developing and researching teaching within their discipline.

• Projects must address one of four themes: Onderwijsvormen van de toekomst; Diversiteit en inclusie; Aansluiting op de arbeidsmarkt; Vrije thema.

• Project duration: minimum 24 months, maximum 30 months.

• Requested budget: minimum €90 000, maximum €100 000.

• RDM plan must be delivered after award and before project start.

• Budget must not exceed €100 000 or be below €90 000; see Call for proposals for detailed budget rules.

• Deadlines (all times local):
– Intent declaration: 2 September 2025, 14:00 CEST
– Pre-proposal: 23 September 2025, 14:00 CEST
– Full proposal: 13 January 2026, 14:00 CET

• Submission exclusively via ISAAC; applicants must create an account at least one working day before deadlines.

• Required attachments: signed statement of applicant’s manager; letter of commitment for any co-funding or matching; Excel budget template; PDF merges of declarations.

• Only one intent, one pre-proposal and one full proposal per applicant.

• Projects must directly benefit students in Dutch higher education.
