• Directly improved teaching and learning experiences for mbo students in the applicant’s vocational domain.

• Scalable and transferable innovative practices or tools that enhance student equal opportunities, labour market readiness or future-oriented competencies.

• Strengthened pedagogical leadership capacity among Senior Fellows, contributing to a culture of continuous innovation in mbo institutions.

• Evidence-based insights into educational innovation, documented in project evaluations and disseminated to the wider vocational education community.

• Enhanced alignment between mbo curricula and regional labour market needs, fostering smoother student transitions into employment.

• Applicant profile: A teaching professional employed by a Regionaal Opleidingscentrum (ROC) or beroepscollege under the Dutch Adult and Vocational Education Act, with at least five years of mbo teaching experience and demonstrable ambition in pedagogical leadership or domain-specific educational research.

• Project duration: Minimum 24 months, maximum 30 months.

• Budget: Requested funding must be between €90,000 and €100,000 per project; total Comenius Senior Fellows mbo budget is €2,000,000.

• Themes: Projects must fall under one of the four specified themes (see Call for proposals, Chapter 2).

• Eligibility: Only funded mbo programmes (bekostigd beroepsonderwijs) within ROCs and beroepscolleges may participate.

• Proposal structure: Intent declaration; pre-proposal (probleemstelling, innovative karakter, verwachte opbrengst); full proposal (comprehensive project plan, professional statement, detailed budget).
