Grant Description
Supports small-scale, one-year educational innovation projects in Dutch higher education to directly benefit students. Addresses teaching improvement and innovation across four themes and aims to enhance teaching quality and student learning outcomes.

Expected Outcomes

• Direct improvement of student learning experiences and outcomes in the targeted course/module.

• Realization of innovative, scalable teaching practices or materials that can be shared across the institution.

• Enhanced inclusivity, engagement and alignment with labour-market competencies.

• Professional growth of the Teaching Fellow as documented in a professional statement.

• Documented project plans, evaluation results and dissemination products to inform broader educational innovation efforts in Dutch higher education.
Funded areas

Scope Requirements

• Applicants must be teaching professionals at publicly funded Dutch higher-education institutions (HBO or WO) with at least two years of teaching experience and direct student contact.

• Projects must be completed within 12–18 months and request between €45,000 and €50,000.

• Proposals must fall under one of four themes: Future Teaching Forms; Diversity & Inclusion; Labour-Market Alignment; or a Free Theme.

• Applicants must submit an intentieverklaring by 9 Sept 2025 (14:00 CEST), a vooraanmelding by 7 Oct 2025 (14:00 CEST) and the full aanvraag by 20 Jan 2026 (14:00 CET) via ISAAC.

• A positive advisory recommendation on the preliminary proposal is required to proceed to the full application stage.
Additional Conditions for Applicants

Special Conditions

• Maximum grant per project: €50,000; minimum: €45,000.

• Research data management plan must be delivered after grant award and before project start.

• Submission via ISAAC only; create an account at least one working day before deadlines.

• Required documents: intention declaration (online), vooraanmeldings- and aanvraag-forms (DOCX), Excel budget, signed supervisor statement and, where applicable, letter of commitment for co-funding.

• Eligibility and detailed budget rules, as well as full assessment criteria and procedures, are further specified in the Call for Proposals.
