What is the Comeniusprogramma Teaching Fellows mbo 2026 Call?

Grant Description
Funding for teaching professionals in Dutch secondary vocational education to implement small-scale educational innovations, directly benefiting students. Projects last 12–18 months and address themes of equal opportunity, education–labour market alignment, future education, or a free theme.
Required Results for Successful Funding

Expected Outcomes

• Introduction and embedding of innovative teaching practices, curricula or tools that improve learning experiences and outcomes for MBO students.

• Enhanced equity in student access and success (where relevant to the chosen theme).

• Closer alignment between vocational education outputs and labour market needs.

• Development of a scalable and transferable model for future-oriented education.

• Strengthened professional profile and capacities of the Teaching Fellow, including reflective practice and peer dissemination.

• Production of project deliverables: detailed project plan, interim and final evaluation reports, dissemination materials (presentations, workshops, publications), and a research data management plan.
Funded areas

Scope Requirements

• Applicants must be education professionals employed by a ROC or beroepscollege (as defined in articles 1.3.1 and 1.3.2 of the Wet educatie en beroepsonderwijs) offering publicly funded vocational education.

• Applicants must have ≥2 years’ teaching experience, demonstrate ambition for professional development and maintain direct contact with the target student group.

• Each project budget must be between €45,000 and €50,000 (max. €50,000) and cover a duration of minimum 12 and maximum 18 months.

• Projects must deliver direct, measurable benefits to students in Dutch MBO.

• Proposals must target one of the four specified themes; detailed scope and examples are in the Call for proposals.

• Submission via ISAAC in three stages: intent statement by 25 Sept 2025; pre-proposal by 23 Oct 2025; full application by 10 Feb 2026.

Special Conditions

• All submissions must use the official ISAAC forms (intent statement, pre-proposal form, full proposal form, Excel budget template, letter(s) of commitment).

• An RDM plan is mandatory after award and before project commencement.

• A signed declaration from the applicant’s supervisor and (if applicable) a co-funding commitment letter must accompany the full application.

• Requested funds may only cover direct project costs; see budget guidelines in the Call for proposals.

• The Call for proposals (chapter 3.1) contains additional eligibility, budget and procedural rules that applicants must follow.

• Only one application per Teaching Fellow is permitted; duplicate or late submissions will be disqualified.
