Support for innovative projects aimed at accelerating the emergence of leading companies in their field with potential for global scale

Expected Outcomes

• Rapid emergence of European deep-tech start-ups as global market leaders.

• Acceleration of technology maturation to industrial scale and market launch.

• Strengthened competitiveness of the French innovation ecosystem and value-chain sovereignty.

• Attraction of follow-on private investment (Series A/B) and increased exports.
Funded areas

Scope Requirements

• Eligible applicants: French start-ups and small to medium-sized enterprises (as defined by EU criteria).

• Projects must be single-entity (no consortium), with the applicant leading all technical and commercial work.

• Focus on disruptive deep-tech innovations with clear industrial fields (energy, health, mobility, digital, etc.)

• Target TRL advancement from 4–5 (proof of concept) up to 7–8 (pilot/demonstrator).

• Applicants must demonstrate managerial and financial capacity to carry the project through post-grant phase.

• Projects should aim at global market potential, positioning the company as a world-class leader in its domain.
Additional Conditions for Applicants

Special Conditions

• This is a competitive, non-repayable grant under State aid rules (de minimis or IPCEI guidelines).

• One application per company and per wave; projects already supported by Bpifrance cannot be resubmitted on the same topic.

• The applicant must be established in France and headquartered in an EU member state.

• Co-financing requirement: at least 20% own funds or other public/private funding.

• Mandatory online submission via the dedicated Bpifrance portal by the wave deadline.
