Digital enablers and building blocks for Earth Observation and Satellite telecommunication for Space solutions

• Enabling the European Space Industry to maintain a significant share of the global connectivity market by boosting performance of satellite networks and fully integrating space and ground segments with terrestrial networks.
• New commercial services and applications unlocked by heightened digitalisation of space solutions.
• Advanced Earth observation payloads, technologies and processing (on-ground and/or in-space) for all mission types.
• Contribution to the development and deployment of global, flexible and reactive space-based service applications, thereby strengthening the competitiveness of the EU space sector.

Proposals must address at least one of the following R&I areas: (1) end-to-end SatCom mission capabilities and network integration; (2) breakthrough digitalised EO mission interoperability, processing and miniaturised payloads; (3) cross-cutting low-TRL building blocks common to EO and SatCom (security, resource optimization, environmental criteria, reconfigurable processing). They must: promote cooperation among industry, SMEs and research institutions; demonstrate rapid commercial exploitation potential; build on and complement existing European technologies, building blocks and previous H2020/Horizon Europe/ESA/national projects; contribute to European non-dependence and competitiveness; report results to GCSS partnership KPIs; integrate sex and gender analysis where relevant; comply with single-stage RIA lump-sum MGA rules; and, if using satellite-based EO/PNT data, employ Copernicus and/or Galileo/EGNOS services.
