Expected Outcomes
• Faster and larger implementation of the ESFRI Projects that entered the ESFRI Roadmap in 2021
• Enhanced ERA excellence and attractiveness through additional capacities from targeted ESFRI Projects
• Solid Member State/Associated Country engagement in pan-European research infrastructures, leading to full implementation
• A long-term perspective for investments in research infrastructures
• Synergies and complementarities between new and existing research infrastructures
Scope Requirements
• Target one of the 2021 ESFRI Roadmap projects (EBRAINS, SLICES, So Big Data++, MARINERG-I, EIRENE RI, ET, Eu PRAXIA, GGP, GUIDE, OPERAS, RESILIENCE) and explicitly state which
• Identify and address the most critical implementation/start-up bottlenecks for that project
• Focus on selected activities (as listed under Call Activities Description) that will accelerate entry into the implementation phase
• Involve all relevant stakeholders needed to advance the project and secure financial commitments (national/regional ministries, governments, research councils, funding agencies)
• Explain synergies and complementarities with any previous or current EU grants
Special Conditions
• Single-stage submission; use the specific HE-CSA application form in the Submission System
• Must comply with: page limits and layout (Annex A/E and Part B WP General Annexes), eligibility criteria (Annex B), financial/operational capacity and exclusion rules (Annex C), evaluation and award rules (Annexes D–F), lump sum decision (7 July 2021 Decision), MGA provisions (Annex G)
• Only the listed ESFRI 2021 projects are eligible
• Non-associated third-country entities may exceptionally participate if eligible under Annex B provisions
• Evaluation will ensure a balanced coverage: at least one top-ranked proposal per targeted ESFRI project meeting all thresholds will be funded
