What is the EIC Accelerator 2025 - Short application Call?
Expected Outcomes
• Mobilisation of follow-on private and public investment, crowding in additional capital required for commercialisation
• Creation of new market opportunities and/or disruption of existing markets in Europe
• Strengthening of EU strategic autonomy and global competitiveness in emerging technologies
• Delivery of innovative products, processes or services with substantial socio-economic or environmental impact
• Acceleration of company growth, job creation, and enhancement of EU innovation ecosystem resilience
Scope Requirements
• Technology: deep-tech innovation building on scientific discovery or technological breakthrough, tested and validated in laboratory and relevant environment (≥TRL 5), requiring patient capital for further development and scale-up
• Objective: create new markets or disrupt existing ones, with EIC support acting as a catalyst to attract further investors
• Thematic: any field (Open) or one of the predefined Challenges in advanced materials, biotech food systems, generative AI, space robotics, future mobility, etc.
Special Conditions
• Fast Track scheme for current Horizon projects (Annex 3) and Plug-in scheme for national programmes (Annex 4)
• UK applicants limited to grant-only funding
• Proposal format and page limits specified in the application form (Part B)
• Each short proposal evaluated by four experts; successful applicants receive one round of coaching
• Cut-offs for full proposals: two in 2025 (12 March, 1 October), with dates for 2026 in WP2026
• In-person Jury interviews: up to six members, expenses not reimbursed
• Legal & financial set-up governed by Model Grant Agreements, Lump Sum MGA, EU Financial Regulation 2018/1046
• Use of detailed budget tables and compliance with lump sum guidance
