Expected Outcomes
• Innovative ideas, concepts, emerging technologies, methods and theories with high potential to shape future ATM/U-Space systems.
• Identification and preliminary validation of interdisciplinary approaches offering novel benefits for ATM/U-Space evolution.
• Foundations for subsequent development phases aligned with the ATM Master Plan’s transformation levers, informing future R&D and deployment roadmaps.
Scope Requirements
• Trajectory optimisation: systematic, continuous, precise gate-to-gate trajectory planning and execution in congested airspace.
• Data volumes: secure collection, processing and real-time sharing of large heterogeneous data sets to sustain common situational awareness.
• Automation: advanced AI-driven tools enabling effective human–machine teaming for safe, capacity- and environment-optimised decision making.
• Dynamic airspace: near real-time configuration of airspace, blending human and system roles for civil and military users, with full automation in certain flight phases.
• Role and function of human operators: evolution and emergence of operator roles and skills, civil–military coordination, CNS interoperability, U-Space and HAO implications.
Special Conditions
• Admissibility, eligibility, financial/operational capacity, exclusion, evaluation, award criteria, scoring, thresholds and legal/financial setup per Horizon Europe General Annexes (Annexes A–G, D, E, F) and BAWP 2024-2025 Annex III.
• Protection of European communication networks restrictions apply.
• Additional dissemination obligations: proactive, royalty-free, timely sharing of all relevant results among grants under this call; to be described in proposals and Annex I.
• Additional exploitation obligations: make results available under fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory (FRAND) conditions via a trusted repository; grant royalty-free, non-exclusive licences for standardisation; ensure mutual access to background and results of linked actions as specified in the BAWP and call.
