The French National Research Agency main generic call open to all scientific communities and public and private actors to fund research projects across a broad range of themes. It addresses the need for flexible funding for finalized or exploratory research, aiming to support scientific excellence, interdisciplinary collaborations, and public-private partnerships, resulting in diverse research outputs and innovation.

– Funding of a diverse portfolio of high‐quality research projects spanning foundational, applied and interdisciplinary science– Strengthening of early‐career researcher independence and career progression via JCJC grants– Support for ambitious team‐led programs (PRME) and national (PRC) and international (PRCI) research networks– Reinforcement of academia‐industry partnerships through PRCE projects– Generation of new scientific knowledge, publications, prototypes, innovations and strengthened research infrastructures– Enhanced French research visibility and competitiveness through strategic collaborations and bilateral agreements

Scope Requirements

– Open to all public and private actors in French research (academia, research organizations, companies)– Submission and registration on IRIS online platform– Choice of exactly one scientific theme (out of 57) and one funding instrument (JCJC, PRME, PRC, PRCI or PRCE), unchangeable during the process– Respect of call calendar: Step 1 open 21 July 2025 09:00 CEST to 14 October 2025 17:00 CEST; Step 2 open February 2026 to March 2026; rebuttal last week of May 2026; results from June 2026; grant agreements from July 2026– Thematic alignment: projects must closely match the selected panel’s theme description– Instrument‐specific eligibility: e.g. certificate required for PRME; PRCI appendices consulted prior to registration; PRCE simple registration form and CV uploads only in Step 1– Administrative prerequisites: updated RNSR entry, ORCID identifier, IRIS CV, managing authority cost estimates, optional competitiveness cluster labels
Additional Conditions for Applicants

Special Conditions

– The chosen scientific theme and funding instrument cannot be modified during evaluation– PRCE Step 1 requires only a project characterization form and coordinator/partner CVs; Step 1 registration automatically invites Step 2 without scientific evaluation– PRCI projects must follow one of three modalities with distinct submission/evaluation schedules and may require submission to foreign agencies; joint funding decisions by ANR and partner agency; coordinators must consult bilateral‐collaboration appendices before registration– Projects funded under AAPG 2025 must withdraw 2026 registrations by email if selected prior to finalizing 2025 grant agreements– Projects on the 2025 complementary list that meet strict reuse criteria (same coordinator, instrument, title, comparable consortium) are automatically invited to Step 2 of AAPG 2026 without re‐evaluation– PRCE projects on the 2025 complementary list benefit from the new simple Step 1 registration process
