What is the Increasing knowledge flows to practice within Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems (AKIS) via thematic networks Call?

Grant Description
This call addresses the limited sharing and use of research findings, innovative solutions and best practices in agriculture, forestry and rural areas. Required Results for Successful Funding

Expected Outcomes

Successful projects will:

• Support EU policies on agriculture, forestry and rural areas (and related climate, biodiversity and environmental policies) by fulfilling the CAP cross-cutting objective of enhanced knowledge flows among AKIS actors, especially end-users

• Build an informed, interconnected and engaged AKIS community through wide-scale sharing of existing and new knowledge in user-friendly languages and formats

• Deliver practice-oriented research findings, innovative solutions and best practices presented attractively and understandably, maintained long-term and made easily accessible via the most appropriate channels for end-users

• Ensure practice-ready knowledge and solutions (from R&I and practice) are widely disseminated, shared and implemented by end-users

• Strengthen AKIS effectiveness at EU and national/regional levels by increasing the flow of practice-ready knowledge and solutions between end-users and other AKIS actors in a geographically balanced manner, improving cost-effectiveness and accounting for territorial differences

• Foster the transition to more competitive, sustainable and resilient agriculture, forestry and rural areas via impartial, tailored knowledge addressing end-user needs
Funded areas

Scope Requirements

Proposals must:

• Select the thematic network’s focus in a bottom-up manner, addressing the most urgent needs of end-users and clearly detailing added value versus ongoing or completed thematic networks (no duplication unless justified)

• Explain theme relevance to end-user needs and the proposal’s unique contributions

• Collect and compile all relevant scientific and practical knowledge, best practices and innovative solutions that are ready for practice but not yet widely known or used

• Translate and adapt these materials to diverse local and regional contexts as needed

• Develop an extensive suite of informative materials and training courses using the most effective approaches, formats and tools, ensuring ease of access and understanding

• Translate all outputs into at least 24 EU official languages for EU-wide dissemination

• Provide a summary cost-benefit analysis of collected practices explicitly within materials and courses

• Feed practice-oriented outputs directly into the most trusted EU, national and regional AKIS dissemination channels, including but not limited to the EU and National CAP Networks, EU-Farm Book, AKISConnect and relevant advisory networks

• Mobilise AKIS actors and leverage EU/national/regional AKIS actions to ensure wide sharing of outputs

• Include a dedicated work package with adequate resources to collect outputs from EIP-AGRI Operational Groups, indicate which OGs are relevant, and foster collaboration and knowledge exchanges with them

• Ensure activities complement those of the EU CAP Network

• Implement the multi-actor approach via a balanced consortium activating advisors, farmers, foresters and rural actors in need identification, planning and execution

• Run for a minimum of three years and include an initial plan for long-term maintenance and updating of outputs beyond project duration

• Consider social diversity (including gender and other categories) in dissemination activities
