What is the KIEM GoChem Call?

Grant Description
The scheme funds explorative applied research through practice-oriented activities carried out by networks of knowledge institutions and company partners. It aims to foster sustainable network formation, address applied research questions, and seed follow-up innovation projects, supporting SMEs in developing innovative solutions.
Required Results for Successful Funding

Expected Outcomes

• Formation of sustainable, practice-oriented research networks between knowledge institutions and industry

• Generation of exploratory results that serve as seeds for follow-up research projects or innovations

• Enhanced innovation capacity and competitiveness of participating SMEs

• Tangible, actionable research outputs ready for further development or commercialization

• Improved channels for knowledge transfer and utilisation between academia and practice partners
Funded areas

Scope Requirements

• Consortium must include at least one knowledge institution and at least one SME (practice partner)

• Projects must be exploratory and practice-oriented, focused on applied research within chemistry and related technical or cross-disciplinary domains

• Interdisciplinary collaboration is required; involvement of starting researchers is encouraged

• Proposals must demonstrate clear routes to knowledge utilisation and industry uptake

• Total eligible project budget per application must not exceed €40,000
