What is the KIEM GoFood Call?

Grant Description
The KIEM GoFood scheme supports explorative applied research through practice‐oriented activities carried out by networks of knowledge institutions and industry partners. It aims to foster sustainable research collaboration and explore applied research questions that can serve as seeds for follow‐up projects or innovations.
Required Results for Successful Funding

Expected Outcomes

• Sustainable, practice-oriented research networks established

• Generation of pilot results, prototypes or proof-of-concepts

• Clear applied research questions identified as seeds for follow-up projects or innovations

• Enhanced knowledge transfer and utilisation by participating companies

• Capacity building for starting researchers

• Foundations laid for future larger-scale or commercial innovation projects
Funded areas

Scope Requirements

• Consortium of at least one knowledge institution (university or research institute) and one practice partner (company)

• Applied-science orientation in one or more of the listed disciplines

• Interdisciplinary collaboration

• Collaboration with social partners and industry

• Active involvement of starting researchers

• Emphasis on knowledge utilisation by practice partners

• Projects must align with the KIEM GoFood 2024-2026 programme

• Maximum funding request of €40,000 per application

• Continuous open call with rolling submissions until 30 September 2025, 14:00 hrs

• Total programme budget: €360,303

• Finance type: Applied Science

• Funding administered by Regieorgaan SIA’s Taskforce for Applied Research

• Applications must be submitted via the Regieorgaan SIA website

• Projects funded only as networks—no single-partner applications
