Expected Outcomes
• Formation or strengthening of multi-stakeholder networks between academia, industry, and social partners.
• Creation of a clear pathway (“seed”) toward follow-on funded projects or direct innovations in logistics operations.
• Enhanced uptake of new knowledge and methods by practitioners, contributing to the impact goals of the National Knowledge Agenda.
• Increased visibility and capacity of starting researchers in applied logistics research.
Scope Requirements
• Research type: explorative applied logistics research, practice-oriented.
• Thematic alignment: must address one or more central themes of the National Knowledge Agenda relevant to logistics.
• Collaboration: mandatory interdisciplinary collaboration; involvement of social partners; industry engagement; inclusion of at least one starting researcher.
• Knowledge utilisation: projects must include clear plans for knowledge exchange and implementation of results in practice.
• Budget request: maximum €40,000 per application.
• Finance type: Applied Science only.
• Eligible disciplines: open to all relevant fields, including (but not limited to) business administration, computer science, engineering, economics, public administration, geography/planning, environmental science, psychology, sociology, design sciences, technology, and related life sciences or humanities when linked to logistics.
• Timeline: projects must fit within the KIEM Logistiek 2024–2026 programme period; full proposal deadline is 30 September 2025, 14:00 hrs.
Special Conditions
• Maximum grant per project is €40,000; co-funding is not required but encouraged if it strengthens practice-orientation.
• Projects must be submitted via the Regieorgaan SIA online portal.
• Proposals must clearly state how they strengthen the impact of existing KIA (Knowledge and Innovation Agendas).
• Only applied, practice-oriented research is eligible; purely theoretical or disciplinary studies without a logistics practice component will be rejected.
• Projects must comply with all SIA regulations (e.g., reporting, IPR, open science) and adhere to ethical standards.
