What is the Literature Call?

Grant Description
This call supports professional literary creative activities across various genres, aiming to enhance literature production and dissemination, increase access and critical discourse, foster international exposure, and develop professional skills among literary creators.
Required Results for Successful Funding

Expected Outcomes

Funded projects are expected to deliver:
• High artistic and cultural value in the field of literature, demonstrating originality, quality and relevance to contemporary cultural discourse (0–40 points)
• Well-justified, timely and impactful project ideas aligned with strategic goals of literary development (0–20 points)
• Enhanced dissemination, reach and accessibility of literary works and activities to diverse audiences (0–10 points)
• Effective promotion and public visibility of project activities and results (0–10 points)
• Clear, realistic and cost-effective budgeting that demonstrates judicious use of funds (0–10 points)
• Robust project management structures ensuring timely, quality delivery of outputs and proper financial administration (0–10 points)

Scope Requirements

• Eligible field: literature (fiction, humanities, children’s and other genres)
• Eligible applicants: professional creators and organizations active in literature
• Eligible activities: creation, events, archiving, publishing, criticism/analysis, research, networking/mobility, co–production, education/qualification
• Application period: 26 June 2025 to 9 September 2025 via LKT IS
• Project budget: total eligible costs ≥€2,777; requested grant ≥€2,500
• Funding intensity: up to 90% of eligible project costs; co-financing ≥10%
Additional Conditions for Applicants

Special Conditions

• Applicants must submit proposals through the Lietuvos kultūros taryba electronic project management system (LKT IS) and authenticate via Elektroniniai valdžios vartai
• Proposals must comply with the “Guidelines for projects funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture” and the detailed “Sectoral project evaluation criteria”
• Funding awarded covers up to 90% of eligible costs; the minimum applicant co-financing share is 10% of total project costs
• Eligible projects must meet the minimum budget thresholds (total ≥€2,777 and requested ≥€2,500)
• Projects will be evaluated against predefined criteria with explicit scoring (see below)
