Minority co-productions NFF + NFI

• Production and Dutch release (theatrical or non-theatrical) of high-quality, original long documentaries.

• Strengthened international collaboration, showcasing the Dutch minority co-producer’s role.

• Increased Dutch spending in film production and development of domestic talent and infrastructure.

• Broader international circulation and commercial returns shared pro rata with the applicant.

• Reinforcement of the applicant’s track record, promoting future co-productions and partnerships.

• Applicant must be the Dutch minority co-producer and must have previously held prime responsibility as majority producer for at least one long documentary with a cinema release.

• The film must have received realisation support from the Netherlands Film Institute (NFI).

• 50% of financing from the main producer’s country must be confirmed at time of application.

• Dutch funds and market participants must contribute at least 10% of the total production budget.

• The film must be released in the Netherlands (theatrical or non-theatrical).

• Applicant must preferably hold exclusive filming and exploitation rights for the Benelux; if Belgium and Luxembourg rights are already allocated, at minimum Dutch territory rights.

• Any contributions under Eurimages or other European schemes must be attributed to the applicant on a pro rata basis.

• All third-party financing must be fully and unconditionally promised within 15 months of the grant decision.

• If applying also for the Production Incentive, the applicant must use the Netherlands Film Production Incentive budget model for Dutch expenditure.

• Applicant will share pro rata in the worldwide proceeds.

• Grant funds must be spent entirely in the Netherlands.
