Grant Description
Supports international, inter-sectoral and interdisciplinary mobility of research and innovation staff through physical secondments between academic and non-academic organisations to foster knowledge transfer, skill development, collaborative networks and innovation capacity

Funded areas

Scope Requirements

• Partnerships must include at least two independent legal entities from academic and/or non-academic sectors (including SMEs), based in EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries;
• Projects may build on previous work but must extend beyond to create or strengthen sustainable collaborations;
• Secondments must involve physical mobility and cannot be virtual;
• Mobility may address three dimensions: international, inter-sectoral and interdisciplinary. Exchanges within the EU/Associated Countries should be primarily inter-sectoral; same-sector exchanges are only allowed if they are interdisciplinary;
• Interdisciplinarity requires integration of methods, data or theories from two or more scientific disciplines;
• Secondments involving non-associated Third-Country institutions with each other, or within the same Member State or Associated Country, are not eligible;
• The collaborative approach must leverage complementary competences, ensure secondments are essential for the joint R&I activities, and include networking, workshops and conferences;
• Participating organisations must provide adequate mentoring and career development for seconded staff.
Additional Conditions for Applicants

Special Conditions

• Only physical mobility is eligible; virtual secondments are prohibited;
• Secondments must occur between legal entities that are independent of each other;
• Projects must comply with Horizon Europe eligibility, admissibility, exclusion, evaluation and award criteria as set out in General Annexes A–G and the MSCA-specific guidelines;
• Admissibility conditions include page limits and proposal layout (Annex A & E); financial and operational capacity requirements apply (Annex C);
• Eligible countries are listed in Annex B; non-eligible Third-Country participants may only join if national funding is available;
• Applications must use the HE Unit Grant model (HORIZON-AG-UN) and the HE MSCA SE application form; evaluation follows the standard HE MSCA criteria (Annex D & F);
• Compliance with the HE Programme Guide, Funding & Tenders Portal Terms and HE MGA is mandatory.
