Required Results for Successful Funding

Expected Outcomes

– Accelerated digitalisation of the energy and mobility sectors through interoperable, standardised cross-border platforms. – Triggered virtuous public-private investment cycles in digital infrastructure. – Substantial reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, measurable energy savings and grid flexibility improvements. – Enhanced energy and environmental performance of European energy, transport and digital infrastructures, contributing to blackout avoidance. – Achievement of EU technological sovereignty and increased security and resilience of energy supply and transport. – Contribution to Digital Decade goals (e.g., deployment of 10 000 climate-neutral highly secure edge nodes). – Quantifiable KPIs including number of connected operators, number of interconnected cross-border systems, amount of energy saved, percentage GHG emission reduction and degree of integration with European digital infrastructures. – Replicable, open, standards-based architectures for roll-out in other Member States. – Strengthened cross-sector (energy, transport, ICT) and cross-border collaboration. – Creation of new business models for distributed energy resources, smart mobility and sustainable infrastructure. – Improved consumer empowerment, data transparency and overall system efficiency.
Funded areas

Scope Requirements

• Deploy a fully functional, cross-border AI-Driven Operational Digital Platform (ODP) for electricity consumers, EV/ET fleets and RES integration.
• Integrate with and leverage existing/emerging European data, cloud, edge computing and connectivity infrastructures.
• Implement a layered digital architecture following BEGONIA guidelines for ODP governance and implementation.
• Include as many as possible of the following mandatory functionalities: real-time monitoring and feedback (energy use, carbon footprint, tariff optimisation); AI-based advisory services; virtual energy community (VEC) trading; integration of controllable assets (EV chargers, heat pumps, batteries) for demand response; AI-powered charging optimisation; dynamic pricing and congestion signals; smart routing for logistics; integration of renewables into charging plans; V2G support.
• Optionally include data centre participation in flexibility markets (load shifting, reserve services) and workload migration tools across borders to greener sites.
• Follow digital security requirements as specified in the call document.
• Provide open, standards-based architectures ready for replication across Member States.
