Required Results for Successful Funding

Expected Outcomes

- Position the EU as a global leader in quantum technologies by providing specialised interdisciplinary training and hands-on experience for diverse audiences.
• Deliver comprehensive EU-level academic curricula and modular short-term training programmes, piloted regionally, with dedicated tracks for SMEs and public-sector professionals.
• Establish sustained partnerships between academia, industry and research institutions to enable large-scale deployment of quantum education and training across Europe.
• Implement joint practical initiatives—on-the-job experiences, labs, mentorships, internships, summer schools, bootcamps, facility visits and career days—that build workforce readiness.
• Advance inclusion by supporting participation of female learners and professionals, young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and persons with disabilities.
• Provide “teach-the-teacher” modules to upskill university, VET and secondary-education faculty in quantum technologies.
• Execute communication and awareness campaigns (social media, career orientation, deep-dive sessions) to broaden public understanding and interest.
• Launch and maintain a dedicated landing page on the Digital Skills and Jobs Platform for visibility and resource sharing.
• Generate KPI-based impact reports with actionable recommendations for policy makers and investors.
• Produce any additional deliverables necessary to fulfil each academy’s specific mission and activities.

Scope Requirements

- Offer tailored, multi-level training opportunities that bridge traditional disciplines and quantum technologies, addressing both academic and practical skill needs.
• Organise tutorials and hands-on activities enabling non-quantum experts to gain direct experience on quantum computing platforms.
• Develop and run summer schools and regional workshops to provide specialised quantum-technology knowledge to students from neighbouring areas.
• Support education and training components of R&D projects in quantum computing, quantum simulation, quantum communication, and quantum sensing and metrology.
• Accelerate knowledge transfer from research to industry and stimulate the uptake of quantum solutions in European markets.
• Ensure alignment with the European Competence Framework for Quantum Technologies (Version 2.0) and contribute to the objectives of the European Declaration on Quantum Technologies.
• Design interdisciplinary curricula suitable for domain professionals without prior formal education in quantum physics or engineering.

Special Conditions

- Single-stage call under DIGITAL Lump Sum Grant (DIGITAL-LS/DIGITAL-AG-LS), with submission exclusively via the Funding & Tenders Portal by 02 October 2025, 17:00 Brussels time.
• Proposals must comply with page limits and layout requirements as specified in Part B of the Application Form and section 5 of the call document.
• Eligible participants and countries defined in section 6; applicants must meet financial and operational capacity and exclusion criteria in section 7.
• Evaluation procedures, award criteria, scoring, thresholds and indicative timeline are set out in sections 8, 9 and 4 respectively of the call document and the Online Manual.
• Grants governed by Lump Sum Model Grant Agreement; legal and financial set-up per section 10, EU Financial Regulation 2021/964, Regulation 2024/2509 and related rules on entity validation and LEAR appointment.
• Adherence to Funding & Tenders Portal terms, conditions, privacy statement and submission process; budget contributions capped at EUR 10 000 000 for this topic, with one grant awarded.
