Scope Requirements
• Address one or more URN management topics (Quiet Maritime Environment; Environmental Services; Subsea Activity Noise Management), e.g., quiet ship design, URN monitoring and risk mapping, construction noise mitigation.
• Leverage space-based data and technologies such as:
– Satellite-relayed AIS for vessel tracking and noise emission modelling
– Earth Observation data (bathymetry, sea-surface temperature, chlorophyll) for sound propagation modelling and Environmental Impact Assessments
– GNSS for positioning accuracy, geofencing of sensitive marine areas and dynamic noise control measures
• Demonstrate clear market opportunities and customer needs, a commercially viable service concept, and a feasible technical solution
• Include teams with complementary business, technical and financial expertise
Special Conditions
• Entities in Greece, Spain or Canada may only qualify if their proposal involves 5G technologies or significant Safety and Security elements.
• Teams outside these countries are ineligible.
• Prior to Full Proposal submission, each participating organisation must secure a Letter of Authorisation from its National Delegation (Italian entities are exempt as ESA interfaces directly with ASI).
• National Delegations coordinate approval of funding levels.
