Required Results for Successful Funding

Expected Outcomes

Projects funded under this call will contribute to: 1. Evidence-based support for European research, innovation and energy policies in smart and integrated energy systems, based on real-life project implementations 2. Informed Horizon Europe energy-system projects benchmarking solutions and methodologies developed by earlier European-funded projects, with systematic comparison of lessons learned 3. Consolidation of BRIDGE as a recognised European reference for innovative smart and integrated energy system solutions 4. Enhanced and effective cooperation between BRIDGE and other European initiatives active in related fields (e.g. ETIP SNET)
Funded areas

Scope Requirements

Proposals must:
1. Provide full-time professional support to the organisation, governance and coordination activities of the BRIDGE initiative, its working groups and task forces
2. Maintain an up-to-date BRIDGE membership database covering all projects, partners, working-group/task-force affiliations and contacts
3. Deliver, update and publish online three main categories of documents: - Annual BRIDGE brochures - Annual thematic/expert reports with policy recommendations - Other reports as requested by the chairmanship
4. Keep BRIDGE’s web presence current, distribute a periodic online newsletter and manage social media communications
5. Aggregate and structure field data to provide evidence-based policy support to the European Commission (primarily DG Energy)
6. Organise the annual General Assembly (March, Brussels/hybrid), including logistics, documentation and action-point follow-up
7. Coordinate and represent BRIDGE at European initiatives and major events (e.g. ETIP SNET, European Sustainable Energy Week, Enlit)
8. Incorporate dedicated actions to foster pan-European cooperation with related initiatives and ensure data generated are accessible and reusable
9. Plan for an indicative project duration of three years

Special Conditions

• Funding model: lump sum grant under HORIZON-CSA (HE AG-LS), total indicative budget €3 000 000, one grant awarded
• Duration: up to three years
• Submission: single-stage, deadline 02 September 2025, 17:00 Brussels time
• Eligible participants: as per Annex B (EU Member States, Associated Countries and specific third-country provisions)
• Admissibility: proposal page limit and layout per Annex A/E of the Work Programme and Part B of the HE application form
• Evaluation: criteria, scoring and thresholds per Annex D; processes per Annex F; indicative timeline per Annex F
• Grant management: lump sum conditions per simplification Decision of 7 July 2021 and Annex G; use of the HE CSA model grant agreement and call-specific lump sum MGA guidance
• Application forms: CSA-specific HE application form in the Submission System; evaluation form adaptations for CSA
