Voucher Artisan

• Facilitate meaningful exchange between visual artists and artisans, fostering transfer and development of traditional and innovative manual skills.

• Preserve and pass on original artisan traditions within the context of contemporary art practice.

• Enable artists to integrate specialized craftsmanship into their research and creative projects.

• Strengthen the professional recognition and sustainability of both artists and artisans in the Netherlands and Caribbean part of the Kingdom.

• Generate demonstrable outputs in the form of collaboratively produced works, documentation of techniques, or new methods that advance quality, tradition or innovation in the visual arts.

• Artist eligibility: must have worked as a professional artist for at least one year and be registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce; or completed at least three years of a Higher Professional Education (HBO) art course plus one year professional practice; or have a minimum of three years’ professional artistic practice.

• Artisan eligibility: must reside in the Netherlands or the Caribbean part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and have at least one year of professional artisan practice.

• Artistic domain: activity must be in the visual arts and embedded in professional visual arts practice in the Netherlands and/or Caribbean part of the Kingdom.

• Application window: may be submitted any time of year while budget remains; applications accepted between 4 months and 5 weeks before plan commencement. No retroactive funding.

• Documentation: two CVs (artist and artisan, max 3 pages each), one-page project plan, artisan quotation/agreement plus artisan statement, extract from Personal Records Database if non-Dutch, diplomas or Chamber of Commerce extract if <3 years practice, bank details, and Chamber of Commerce extract for corporate accounts.
